Healing-Centered Mentorship for Utica's Youth

We provide trauma-informed behavioral health support for young people ages 5–21 through New York State's CFTSS program — meeting youth and families where they are, at no cost to Medicaid-enrolled families.

What Is CFTSS?

Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) is a New York State Medicaid program that provides behavioral health support for children and youth under age 21. If your child is enrolled in Medicaid and is facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, they may qualify — at no cost to your family. Services are flexible. We come to you — at home, at school, or wherever your family feels comfortable.

How We Support Youth & Families

Youth Mentorship

One-on-one mentoring for youth ages 5–21. Our mentors build trusted relationships, teach life skills, and walk alongside young people as they grow through challenges.

Peer Support

Youth who have faced similar challenges benefit from peer support that is real, relatable, and rooted in shared experience. We meet youth where they are — emotionally and physically.

Family & Case Support

We work with families and care managers to coordinate resources, navigate systems, and make sure every young person has the wraparound support they need.

Who Qualifies?

We serve youth ages 5 to 21 in the Utica, NY area who: Are enrolled in New York State Medicaid; Are experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges; Are referred by a therapist, school counselor, care manager, or parent. Services are covered by Medicaid. There is no cost to eligible families.

Built From Our Own Experience

Aung Community Behavioral Health Network was founded by Aung Kyaw, a Utica community member whose family immigrated to the U.S. in 2008. Having navigated the challenges of building a new life — language barriers, limited resources, and finding people to trust — Aung built this organization to be the support system he wished his family had. Every mentor we hire shares that same commitment to showing up for youth and families in real, meaningful ways.

"Healing is a journey, not a destination."
